IT Support Technician

Salary: Negotiable based on experience

Hours: Full Time hours, Monday to Friday

Location: Huddersfield, West Yorkshire

Reporting to IT Service and Infrastructure Manager

Temporary Role - 1 Month +

Our client is looking for an experienced candidate to provide helpdesk support to end users for all IT systems provided by the company. To assist the IT Team in the running & managing of all IT helpdesk requests via phone, email or onsite, ensuring that tickets are logged, categorised & prioritised correctly, providing a 'first time fix' wherever possible

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact for all IT helpdesk requests;
  • Staff the IT Helpdesk & manage the day to day work of the helpdesk ensuring all calls are logged & dealt with appropriately;
  • Ensuring a high quality of customer care to all colleagues, customers & suppliers, both remotely & face to face;
  • Participate actively in team meetings, suggesting positive improvement opportunities;
  • Meeting KPI's ensuring that customer incidents & requests are resolved within the agreed SLA's;
  • Assist in Service Acceptance & Transition;
  • Maintain Software & Hardware Asset Management;
  • Escalate Problems & Trends to Senior Support Engineers & Management;
  • Follow predefined Incident / Service Request Management & Change Management processes;
  • Manage own workload through good time management & prioritisation skills, along with assigning new incidents;
  • Order consumable items & monitor stock levels of consumable items;
  • Comply with all relevant Health & Safety legislations;
  • Adherence to all corporate & legal policies

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience of working on a 1 st & 2 nd line IT Support Helpdesk;
  • Experience of 'hands on support', working with a diverse customer base on a wide variety of incidents & service requests;
  • Experience of working with predefined Incident & Change Management Processes;
  • Working knowledge of the following applications & hardware: Microsoft Operating Systems, (Desktop & Server), Active Directory, Server & Desktop Management, User Devices & Printers;
  • Ability to organise own workload to business priorities;
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to adapt & be flexible based on the customer;
  • The ability to work in a team, whilst being accountable for own actions;
  • Significant attention to detail & accuracy
