The Council's Regeneration, Investment and Development Office (RIDO) takes the lead on the development and delivery of all places making and infrastructure regeneration projects in the Borough. With a programme in the region of £200m, working across the public and private sector the regeneration service is at the heart of the Council's plan to develop the economic landscape of the Borough.
An exciting opportunity has now arisen for an exceptional regeneration professional to lead the delivery of the Council's Town Centre and Principal Areas of Growth programmes of improvement. Delivering projects like the flagship Forge Island leisure complex, a new central library and markets, public realm and new town centre residential community.
The successful candidate will be a highly experienced regeneration professional who is engaging, resilient and resourceful with a strong track record of delivery. You will have a wealth of experience in leading complex regeneration projects from inception to completion and an excellent knowledge of the intricacies of the public sector.

This post is classed as 'politically restricted' under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (as amended). The full details of the restrictions are set out in the Statutory Instrument, but broadly the restrictions prohibit candidature from public elected office; holding office in a political party; as well as involvement in political activities such as canvassing or public speaking/writing.
Until 31st March 2026 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a monthly deduction from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded three additional days leave (pro rata for part-time).
